Hope, the only thing to cling onto….

Israel 0 - England 0

Andorra 0 – England 3

People, I have to say it, first and foremost, even with England’s dismal display over the last two games (one of the reasons why I did not write about the Israel game) we should not be jeering the players whilst on the pitch. Let the papers tell the England manager how we feel, but when the game starts that's when things stop and we get behind the team.

Yes, we are not playing great but at least we still have a hope of getting through, this aint going to be helped by the constant abuse and boo’s. This does not make the players feel any good! We know it to be true, so from now on, please make sure that we keep the disappointment away from the pitch or at least till the end of the match.

Team: With a poor performance on the cards, when you look at the start of the game, things began to pick up. Rooney and Gerrard played well, even with the antics of Andorra’s team.

Positions: Now, to the game, well, the best (I would like to say decision, but cannot) thing to happen was to have Lampard out of the game. Though we knew we would win, I would like to think that leaving him out played a part. I think he is good, but in all honesty when you leave out some of the other better midfielders to accommodate him, it doesn’t get us results and previous games have proved this.

Positives: The win!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Negatives: Let’s just not go there but I would start with McClaren, you’re the manager, take the heat!

I won’t go into details, as I think we pretty much knew that we needed to win and that’s it! With games coming up against Estonia and then Israel, we hope that we can rebuild some dignity. Russia might be more difficult but against a nation with a better quality team, you would think we would win that easily…..unfortunately my fortune tellers on holiday, so I will not predict anything now!
