Rooney wins the Nationwide Player of the Weekend award and rightly so! With the media constantly going on about the goal drought and his performance, it is a comfort for this award to be presented to one of the best players to grace the field. The game against Wigan showed the quality and talent this youngster possesses! Many strikers lack the natural ability but if you saw the pass from the outside of his right foot during this game, you could only wish you were able to do that! His passing great, his strikes superb, his technical ability one of the better ones I have seen! Goals will come with games (same thing everyone is saying), but it is important to note that this is England’s future and there is pressure on him! We must be patient and wait for him to do what he does naturally and when he does this, he does it class and play most strikers dream of being able to do!!!!!!

SO, what are we missing, after two unsuccessful games, well in my pov (point of view), it is Joe Cole! He offers something that we have not seen in English football. He setups play, takes on players and offers that hint of Brazilian style. When we play, we are rigid, the passing isn’t great, and that needs to be worked on, but with Joe he runs and chases those no hope balls (like Rooney) and majority of the times makes something out of them. Creating chances means we have a greater chance of getting goals. So let’s hope that Joe comes back real soon! Here’s hoping!
